The Story of Belle's Boutique

THE STORY OF BELLE’S BOUTIQUE

The original Belle’s Shoppe was opened in 1941 by Belle McGowan.  It had changed hands a couple of times, with the last owner, Inabelle Peardon, closing the store in September of 2006.  Then, as now, women came from all over the Island to shop at Belle’s.

After long and thoughtful deliberation, I decided that the longstanding tradition should be kept going.  So, I quit a full time position, did a lot of research and soul searching and took the plunge.  We purchased an older building, did major renovations, and in March of 2008, opened a beautiful store in the new location of 557 Main St. In Montague. The tradition continues, but with our own modern style.

Belle’s Boutique prides itself on catering to women of all ages. We consider customer service our primary goal….like to browse and take your time, we’ll be there if you need us….like to have some assistance, we’re there to help….like to be left on your own, we can do that too.  Whatever your shopping style, you’ll find it here.  We carry Women’s Fashions, from everyday casual to a semi formal night on the town and are fast becoming know as the store to find that perfect Mother of the Bride/Guest outfit.

We keep popular and trendy lines such as Tribal, Bali, Pure, Neon Buddha, Lana Lee, Hue Leggings, Yest, Frank Lyman, Joseph Ribkoff, Libra, Papillon, Thunder Bay, Fen.Nelli, and Liverpool, Lois, and Simon Chang Jeans, just to name a few. To top off your outfit, we also carry accessories…..jewelry, purses, scarves, gloves and slippers.

We are continually checking out new lines to meet our customers needs and proudly carry many Canadian made lines. Our selection, as quoted by our clientele, is second to none.

Personalized service with a friendly and helpful staff, we look forward to seeing you and we know you will be pleasantly surprised by our great selection.  Belle’s Boutique packs a big punch in a small town and some say we’re the best kept secret on the Island. Come in and see for yourself.
